    Big Ideas: In Science, we will be focussing on the Material World strand and looking at Sustainability issues from the lens of chemistry.  We would be exploring substances that we use at home and their properties. We will investigate how rates of decomposition and disintegration and how this affects our environment.

    • We are EXPLORING.....sustainability issues by classifying substances as renewable and non-renewable substances or organic and inorganic.
    Success Criteria:   I can/have:
    • a basic understanding of the structure of an atom, chemical formulae & concentrations
    • learnt the names and symbols of the first 15 elements of the periodic table
    • differentiate between a solute and a solvent.
