    Big Ideas: In Science, we will be focussing on the Material World strand and looking at Sustainability issues from the lens of chemistry.  We would be exploring substances that we use at home and their properties. We will investigate how rates of decomposition and disintegration and how this affects our environment.

    • We are EXPLORING...states of matter and classifying matter based on their chemical & physical properties.
    • We are EXPLORING...the basic concepts related to chemistry and making connections with everyday life.
    • We are EXPLORING.....sustainability issues by classifying substances as renewable and non-renewable substances or organic and inorganic.
    Success Criteria:   I can/have:
    • an understanding of the different states of matter
    • differentiate between physical and chemical changes with examples
