  • Context: Earth to Space

    This term our focus is on understanding our place in the universe in relation to our planet earth. We will also be Exploring, Developing our understanding about the origins of the universe, our earth and how earth is constantly changing.

    EXPLORE / TŪHURA learning intentions:

    • We are EXPLORING...the Nature of the universe, theories of origins and how scientists observe & collect data relating to the universe.
    Success Criteria:   I can/have:
    • develop an understanding of stars and constellations
    • demonstrate an understanding of the origins of the universe
    • develop an understanding & appreciation of distances in space.

    • Complete Education Perfect tasks
    • Answer these questions and make notes in your science book about the following:
    1. Approximately how old is the universe?
    2. What are the temperatures and colours relating to the stars?
    3. What is a Light year?
    4. What is the difference between the Big Bang theory and the Steady State theory - refer Edpuzzle task.
