    EXPLORE / TŪHURA learning intentions:

    • We are EXPLORING different biomes of the world concentrating on a desert biome and looking at the hardships organisms and human face living in this type of biome
    • We are EXPLORING world poverty and hunger and investigating what "World Vision" does and what we what can be done to overcome this
    • We are EXPLORING genetic engineering and mutation and researching how GMO food might be a solution to world hunger
    Learning Intentions :  We are learning to (WALT)...

    • Understand the key difference between sexual and asexual reproduction 
    • Describe "variation" and to discuss why it is important
    • Measure a feature that shows variation 
    • Describe the basic process by which genetic information is passed from one generation to the next 
    • Describe the role and importance of DNA 
    • Complete punnet squares in order to predict patterns of inheritance 
    • Discuss the process of ethics of cloning 
    • Demonstrating a basic understanding of evolutionary process
    • Describe how living things changed over time.
    •  Discuss why many things in New Zealand are unique to us.

    Work not completed in class will be for HOMEWORK. Please complete all your work in the google classroom doc - do NOT make a copy and store it else where !! Please also check your e-mails and google classroom for feedback on your work.
