EXPLORE / TŪHURA learning intentions:
- We are EXPLORING different biomes of the world concentrating on a desert biome and looking at the hardships organisms and human face living in this type of biome
- We are EXPLORING world poverty and hunger and investigating what "World Vision" does and what we what can be done to overcome this
- We are EXPLORING genetic engineering and mutation and researching how GMO food might be a solution to world hunger
- Understand the key difference between sexual and asexual reproduction
- Describe "variation" and to discuss why it is important
- Measure a feature that shows variation
- Describe the basic process by which genetic information is passed from one generation to the next
- Describe the role and importance of DNA
- Complete punnet squares in order to predict patterns of inheritance
- Discuss the process of ethics of cloning
