  • Te Wiki o te Reo Māori 2020 - Horowhenua District Council

Kia Ora Y9. This week, we will learn about the leaders of different political parties in New Zealand.

Also this is Maori Language week. We are observing “Māori Language Moment” at 12pm on Monday 14th September to commemorate the actual time and day in 1972, when 30,000 signatures were delivered to Parliament calling for Te Reo Māori to be taught in schools.  Also we will print Maori signage and put them at appropriate places in school. Working with your buddy, you will choose at least one Maori sign, print it and put it up. We will start our English sessions with a waiata.
