  • Week 7: (15th-19th March 2020)

     

    Kia Ora Class. This week, we will discuss the Maori World View as presented in the film ‘Whale Rider.’  Matua Keung (Maori teacher) will speak to you about it. Also we will watch a documentary on Maori history.  

    Activities:

    • Discussing the Maori World View presented in the film.

    • Watching a documentary on Maori history. 

     Resources:

    FOCUS: Our Focus this term is ‘Film Study.’ We will learn about Maori World View through the Visual Text (Film) ‘Whale Rider.’ We will study different aspects of Film Making such as Story/Plot,Themes, Characterisation Dialogues, Camera Angles, Camera Shots Camera- Movements, Editing , Music, Sound, Setting and Makeup etc. 

    Big Idea: ‘Turangawaewae: My Place To Stand to in New Zealand.’
