Our learning context is Growing Great Innovations. 

You will conduct an innovation inquiry in collaboration with Science, Maths and English.

For the next 3 weeks we will be actively exploring Geometry and Measurement in Maths sessions, which you will apply in your 'Growing Great Innovations' Inquiry Project.

EXPLORE / TŪHURA learning intentions:

• We are EXPLORING polygons to calculate area and perimeter.
• We are EXPLORING formulae for area and perimeter of polygons.
• We are EXPLORING units of measurement to calculate area and perimeter of polygons.

Success Criteria: I can/have...

• name some types of polygons and differentiate between regular and irregular polygons.
• apply the formulae to calculate area and perimeter of polygons.
• convert units of measurement to calculate area and perimeter.

Area and Perimeter activity slide

1. Read the questions and study the shapes carefully
2. Follow the instructions on the slides to calculate area and perimeter
3. Show proof of working.
