    FOCUS / ARONGA

    FOCUS / ARONGA learning intentions:

    • We are FOCUSING on Tidy Jump strategy so that we can  develop mental addition and subtraction skill using the number line.
    • We are FOCUSING on Algebra Multiplying Expressions so that we can develop  the skill of multiplying variables.
    • We are FOCUSING on Directed Number Operations so that we can continue to develop  and consolidate our knowledge and skills in adding and subtracting both positive and negative integers.
    • (extra for expert)  We are FOCUSING on problem solving so that we can develop the skill of unpacking a mathematical problem and logical thinking, and get the chance to apply math strategies we have learnt.


    Success Criteria: I can/have...

    • mentally work out the answer of addition/subtraction problems using tidy jump strategy
    • confidently and accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide integers
    • multiply variables in algebraic expressions
    • (extra for expert) creatively solve math problems
