    PLAN & DO / WHAKAMAHI

PLAN & DO / WHAKAMAHI learning intentions:

    • We are PLANNING to 'hand-pick' words in a text so that we can create new meaning (through blackout poems).

    Activities
This week and the next for English please complete your :
    • Reading Plus
    • Blackout poems if you still have one to finish.
    • Education Perfect tasks.

    New Task: Challenge

    • Craft another blackout poem from texts in newspapers, magazines etc. But this time, let's be even more cReaTive!  Add more colour and illustrations, and (optional) cut the text into a shape related to your poem! The words of your poem should be included in the shape.
    • Your poems could be about anything you wish to e.g. school, friendship, Covid 19, family, nature, values such a kindness, etc. etc. or just exploring how certain words somehow connect with each other (like how we did in class)!
    • How about doing this with your brother/sister/ parents/ grandparents/everybody!  This will keep others involved as well and off course what a load of fun!
    • The great thing about this is that if you can craft a few, you can create your very own family art piece by putting them altogether in a frame! Bigger and different font types will look great in a frame. WOW actually I want to do this too now!
    • Take pictures of your process and the final product and share with me on the  doc I have shared with you on Google Classroom. Once I have received from everybody, we will put them all together to create our own class art piece!
    • Check Week 7 planning if you need more guidance or to share with your family about blackout poems.

    Success Criteria:
    I can/have...
    • shown creativity in crafting my blackout poems.
    • shared with Mrs Narayan.
