    Welcome to week 5! And a new context for learning!


    We begin to explore our new context "WAI AND KAI" - Wai means Water and Kai means Food - so we are looking at food that comes from the sea and issues around it. In Science you will be looking at some issues and in English you will be creating a STATIC IMAGE about one of the things you are learning in Science.



    Over the next 5 weeks we will work together on the following...

    Success Criteria: I can/have...

    • identify the elements that make up a static image
    • present a static image using appropriate layout
    • show an awareness of purpose and audience in a number of static images and transfer them to our learning context "WAI AND KAI"
    • written SEXY paragraphs about 3 elements over the next 3 weeks to show understanding of the make up of a static image

    Activities:

    1. Wednesday S2: What is a STATIC IMAGE? watch the introductory slide show on google classroom and complete the google doc all about static images.
    2.  Find several static images in the classroom, at home or online and look for the elements of font, text, dominant image, colour and layout.
    3. Thursday S4: google classroom tasks to follow and complete
    4. Friday S4: complete the google classroom documents (those that you can)

    What is ahead for you...

    Design a static image -Introduction to Assessment 2, Term two.

    Look at some images from 2019 as examples, we have newsprint, cartridge paper and coloured pencils to use :o) 

    Design a static image that show cases or highlights a key idea in science. On a google document, write 3 SEXY paragraphs about the elements of static image you have used, say why you have chosen the quote, colours and shapes that you have.
