    Week 2 day 1 

    Learning Intention : 

    WALT identifies the base number and the index number.  Expand and simplify indices. 

    Success Criteria: I know what is a base number. How do the powers work? I can expand 54 

    As a multiple of a base number.

    Week 2 Day 2 

    WALT multiplying numbers with exponents 

    Success criteria I know I can add powers when multiplying numbers with powers   

    Week 2 Day 3 

    WALT add and subtract algebraic terms 

    Success Criteria I know that terms that are alike can be added 

    I know the meaning of “terms” - ie part of an expression of 5p+4

    what is a coefficient - Its the numerical factor of a term that contains a variable eg 5 in 5p

    What is a variable - A symbol ( numeral, letter) that represents one or more numbers 

    What is a constant - a term ( number) with no variable attached to it.
