    EXPLORE / TŪHURA learning intentions:

    • We are EXPLORING...to analyse the interior structure and basic composition of the earth
    • We are EXPLORING...to recognise the different spheres of the earth so that we can investigate how man is messing with these spheres
    • We are EXPLORING...the importance of carbon in the atmosphere so that we can research and question global warming


    Learning Intentions: We are learning to (WALT)..

    • Identify the major spheres of the Earth 
    • Label & Describe the composition of the Earth 
    • Describe the "Theory of Tectonic plates" stating evidence for this theory 
    • Discuss Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Tsunamis in relation to News Zealand position on a plate boundary 
    • Identify the major features and functions of the human circulatory system
    • Describe the processes involved in the rock cycle 
    • Discuss the differences between the spheres of the earth 
    • Explain the water cycle process using the correct scientific words 
    • Discuss the processes that contribute to global warming 

    • Success Criteria: I can/have...
    • Correctly and accurately label a diagram of the Internal structure of the Earth 
    • Describe  the 4 spheres of the earth and why they are  important 
    • Describe the i"Tectonic plate theory" 
    • Explain the basic process of plate movements and how this related to New Zealand 
    • Tabulate the differences between the different types of plate movement 
    • Explain the events of the rock cycle
    • Research the different spheres of the earth 
    • Discuss and explain the processes of the water cycle 
    • Investigate the factors involved in global warming 

    Activities:

    1. New SCIPAD online resource - Go to the earths structure   module and complete the set tasks to the best of your ability. 
    2. Google classroom tasks 
    3. Videos on the topic 

    Homework:

    We are giving you this week to catch up on all incomplete work! Please use this time to do so. Please check your email and  google classroom for updates. 

    As Always all work NOT completed in class will be Completed for Homework !
