This beginner-level class introduces basic hiragana and katakana, along with simple introductions, numbers, and everyday greetings. Students will also explore Japanese culture through hands-on activities such as origami, calligraphy, and trying Japanese snacks.
Discovery for those that haven't played keyboard before, this deep goes over the basics of playing keyboard. You will learn to read and play music on the keyboard as well as chords and songs.
Explore the traditional board game of Carrom, which has cultural roots in South Asia and is played and enjoyed in many countries around the world. Students will develop precision, strategy, and hand-eye coordination while learning the rules, techniques, and tactics through friendly and competitive play.
This DEEP is for anybody that is passionate about singing! All levels of experience are welcome as long as you are willing to give it a go. You don’t need to be a solo superstar singer to join - choir is all about bringing individual voices together to build something far greater than what a single microphone can produce. As part of this DEEP, you'll also learn techniques for breath control, tone and projection. You'll learn to blend and harmonise with other singers, and sing a range of musical styles.

Quilling is an art form that involves the use of strips of paper that are rolled, shaped, and glued together to create decorative designs. The paper is rolled, looped, curled, twisted, and otherwise manipulated to create shapes that make up designs to decorate greetings cards, pictures, boxes, eggs, and to make models, jewelry, mobiles, etc.

This DEEP will also involve the current Enviro Council students and if you are passionate and contribute to this DEEP you will have an opportunity to join this School Council. You must have a device that works on mac or windows operating system and strictly no chromebooks or tablets as Inkscape doesn't work well on these devices .

In this DEEP, you will learn how to play mahjong, one of Chinese people’s favourite pastimes. You will learn the basic strategies on how to play mahjong through attacking and defending from other players and have fun playing against each other.

This course will explore this history and psychology behind sightings of mysterious creatures around the world, from Bigfoot and Mothman to the Loch Ness Monster. New Zealand also has has its fair share of mystery creatures from the patupaiarehe (tiny fairy beings from Maori folklore) to sightings of the ‘Coromandel Man’ (New Zealand’s Bigfoot), big cat reports and sightings of giant alligators in the Waikato River during the latter 1800s. What evidence is there to support the existence of these mystery creatures. THIS IS A COURSE IN CRITICAL THINKING AND RULES OF EVIDENCE.
