What is Family & Friends?

Family and Friends is a forum for you the parents and guardians of the students at MHJC.

President J F Kennedy once said “Ask not, what can my country do for me? But rather, what can I do for my country?”

The MHJC Family & Friends group gives you the opportunity to meet other parents and guardians to become part of a vital and critical volunteer group whose primary purpose is to foster friendship and community participation between parents, guardians and the school.

Family and Friends meet on the first Wednesday of each month @ 7 pm in the MHJC staffroom and are actively involved in working with the Principal, Teachers and Board of Trustees in raising the profile of MHJC.

Activities included are helping provide support personnel for school events, both social and educational, participating in discussion groups and organising special events.

The main goal of Family and Friends is to raise the profile of the school by sponsoring major community social events at the school that will benefit all the students and the community.

By becoming an active member of MHJC Family and Friends, you will have an active voice which is listened to by the Principal, Teachers and Board of Trustees of MHJC.

We are asking you, the parents and guardians of the students at MHJC: “Ask not, what can MHJC do for my children? But rather, what can I do for my children at MHJC?”

We need your involvement, your participation and your input.

Become a vital part of the growth strategy for MHJC for 2010.
